About Echo
Echo lets you capture the moments you never want to lose — the faces, voices, stories and little things that make a life so rich — as videos, photos, voice notes and written messages. Build an echogram together with the people you love, share it privately with only the people you choose, or send it into the future to arrive when it will mean the most. No public feed, no followers: only the people you name can see an echogram. This page is where you find help and reach us.
Contact us
Email support@echoforever.io from the address on your Echo account where you can, and tell us what you were doing, what happened, and your phone model and app version (Settings → About Echo). We reply within two business days. For a problem with an echogram someone shared with you, the fastest route is the Report option inside the app.
Common questions
Getting started
What is Echo for?
Echo keeps videos, photos, voice notes and messages for the future. You gather them into an echogram, choose an unlock date, and share it with the people you pick. They can open it once that date arrives.
How do I create an echogram?
Tap Add Memory at the bottom of the screen. Choose Create on phone to record a video, take a photo, record a voice note or write a message, or choose Upload from device to pick from your photos. When Echo asks where to add it, tap Create new Echogram and give it a name.
Can I use Echo in another language?
Yes. Go to Settings → App settings → App language and pick a language; most switch straight away. Switching to or from Arabic, which reads right to left, needs Echo to restart.
Echograms and sharing
Does the person I share with need an Echo account?
Not if you share to their email address. They get an email from Echo with a link that opens in their browser, where they ask for a 6-digit code sent to that same email and enter it to view the echogram. If they later join Echo with that email, the echogram also appears in their app.
I did not get the email for my echogram. What now?
Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it is not there, ask the sender to open the echogram's Share screen, check your address is right, and tap Resend next to your name.
Can I change an echogram's unlock date?
Yes. Open the echogram, tap the settings (gear) button, tap the Unlock on date, pick a new day and tap Save. Before you share the echogram you can move the date to any day from today on. Once it is shared with someone, the date can no longer be moved later.
Can I cancel an echogram before it unlocks?
Yes. Open the echogram from your Echograms tab, tap the settings (gear) button, tap Delete Echogram, then confirm. Everything in it is permanently removed, anyone you shared it with loses access, and they are not sent a notification.
Are there limits on how much an echogram can hold?
Yes, and they depend on your plan, which is shown at the top of Settings. On Echo Essentials you have 500 MB of storage in total and up to 2 echograms, and you can share each echogram with up to 5 people. Echo Core and Echo Plus allow more. Each file can be up to 2 GB.
Can I save a memory to my phone?
Yes, for photos, videos, and voice notes. Open the memory and tap the download icon at the top. On an echogram you created, open the three-dots menu and tap Download to device. Photos and videos go into your photo library, in an album called Echo.
Your account and your data
What happens if I delete my Echo account?
Your account, your echograms and their memories are removed for good, including for the people you shared them with. This cannot be undone, so save anything you want to keep to your device first. Memories you added to someone else’s echogram as a co-creator stay in that echogram. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel that in your store account.
Can I export my Echo data?
Echo does not offer a full data export yet. You can save your photos, videos and voice notes to your phone one at a time. For a copy of your other personal data, email us (see Your data below).
How do I change my email address or phone number?
Open Settings and tap your profile at the top to open Account. For email, type the new address and tap Save changes, then tap the link in the confirmation email we send. For phone, tap Change next to your number, enter the new one and enter the code we text you.
What is Cached media, and is it safe to clear?
Cached media is the copies of photos and videos Echo keeps on this phone so your memories open quickly. You will find it in Settings → App settings, with its size next to it. Clearing only removes copies on this phone, not your memories.
What happens when I block someone?
When you block someone, echograms they had shared with you are removed, any co-creator invite from them is declined, and you no longer see or get notified about their comments. They are not told. Manage blocked people in Settings → Privacy & security → Blocked people.
How do I report something that was shared with me?
Open the echogram from Shared with You and tap the menu in the top corner, or open a single memory and tap the three dots, then choose Report. The same menu lets you remove it from your list or block the sender.
Notifications
How do I turn on notifications?
Open Settings → Notifications and switch on what you want to hear about: unlocks, echograms shared with you, new memories, comments, upload problems and reminders before an echogram opens. Keeper updates and messages about your account are always on.
Can I choose when Echo reminds me before an echogram opens?
Yes. Go to Settings → Notifications and tap Before an echogram opens. You can get all three reminders (1 week, 1 day and 1 hour before), just one of them, or none.
The app carries the full set of questions and answers in all its languages: Settings → Help & FAQs.
Delete your account
In the app: Settings → tap your profile at the top (Account) → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your echograms and their memories are removed, including for the people you shared them with. Save anything you want to keep to your device first.
If you cannot sign in: email support@echoforever.io from the email address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We confirm it is you by sending a code to that address, then delete the account within 30 days and tell you when it is done.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in your store account settings; the store, not Echo, handles billing and refunds.
Your data
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@echoforever.io from the address on your account; we answer within 30 days. If someone shared an echogram with you and you would rather we did not hold your name, email or phone number, tell us and we remove them within 30 days. What we collect and why is in the Privacy Policy.
Links you may have received
An echogram shared with you opens in your browser from the link in the email; you enter the 6-digit code we send to that same address. The code lasts 10 minutes and you can request a new one.
A co-creator invitation asks you to help build someone else’s echogram; it opens in the Echo app, so install Echo first if you do not have it.
A Keeper key is something a person gives you themselves, so that one day you can ask Echo to begin looking after their account. Nothing happens for 30 days after you ask, and the person is told at every step.
“Still here” is the link we send you if someone asks Echo to begin as your Keeper. Tapping it, or simply opening the Echo app, stops the request. If you did not expect it, email us.
Reporting content and appeals
Report an echogram, a memory or a comment from its menu in the app. We act on reports of illegal content within 24 hours. If we hide something of yours or suspend your account, we tell you what happened and why, and you can appeal by replying to that email or writing to support@echoforever.io within 7 days; we answer within 7 days.
Plans and payments
Paid plans are sold only through the App Store and Google Play. To cancel, change or refund a subscription, use your store account; Echo cannot refund a store purchase itself. If a plan ends, what you have already saved stays in your account, and additions beyond the free plan’s limits wait until there is room.
Security
If you believe you have found a security problem in Echo, email support@echoforever.io with “Security” in the subject and we will respond within two business days. Please do not post the details publicly until we have replied. How your content is protected is described in the Privacy Policy.
Requirements and known issues
Echo runs on iPhone (iOS 15.1 or later) and Android phones (Android 7.0 or later). Keep the app updated from the App Store or Google Play. Known issues and their status are listed inside the app at Settings → Known issues.
